What are Personal Loans?

Personal loans are unsecured, which means that you are not purchasing anything in return for the loan, such as a home or automobile. It can come in lump sum or in a revolving line of credit, where you can take or repay funds at will.

If you receive a lump sum for the loan or a closed-end loan, it will usually carry a fixed interest rate. You will be locked in with that same interest rate for the duration of the loan. A line of credit carries an adjustable rate and may cost more because it has fluctuating interest rates.

Your credit history also is important in the length of time your loan will be and how much the loan amount is. Many lenders and banks provide a loan calculator that can help you to see what your loan and payments would be.

You can expect to receive anywhere from $500 to about $35,000 depending on the lender you choose. There are many online lenders that can offer you a loan within 24 hours. You can also go to your local bank and work out a loan agreement there.

When you pay back you personal loan, you may receive coupon books if you get a lump sum. Checks will come if you get a line of credit loan and you are able to withdraw different amounts up to your available amount. If you deduct automatic payments from your personal checking or savings accounts, you may be able to bring down the interest.

There are many reasons to apply for a personal loan. Many different types of personal loans are available for all of your needs. Weddings, Vacations, Small Business, Payday, Cash Advance, or Personal reasons are just some examples.
