Information contained in a Credit Report

Each credit report supplies the same four types of information to the lender. The four types of information are: identifying information, credit information, public record information, and inquiries. A credit risk score can be contained in the credit report upon request as well.

Identifying information: Basic information about you the consumer,
  • Name
  • Address
  • Social Security number
  • Date of Birth
  • Employers
  • Spouse Name if married
Credit information: Credit accounts or loans with the following,
  • Banks
  • Retailers
  • Credit Card Issuers
  • Other lenders
Public Record Information: Information contained in state and county court records concerning,
  • Bankruptcies
  • Foreclosures
  • Wage attachments
  • Suits
  • Liens and Judgments
Inquiries: Lenders are able to know if others have made inquiries on your credit. If too many inquiries have been made to your report within a given amount of time, the lender may think you are applying for too many lines of credit, resulting in additional debt. This can be negative and the lender may not issue you the loan you desire.

Credit Risk Score: A score may be provided with your report upon request to a credit grantor, but it is not included with a consumer review reports. A credit score is used by each lender differently, so it is not necessary for it to be on the consumer review report.
